This was day 2 of Churchie’s 2nd group’s voyage. The early morning bugle was sounded by Jye and Hally. The pleasant melody arose the crew, preparing for the knot competition for the Reef Knot. This was won by Blue Watch.

After a hot breakfast we discovered that the weather was not with us today and we failed to gather much speed using the sails. However, the boys still persisted, searching for the wind through a motor sail to the shallows north of Peel Island. The strong current was fun for some swimming, others would try and kiss the mermaid.

As the sails rose again, the crew elegantly sailed to Lucinda Bay. This beautiful island was ventured by foot during the crews first time touching land in days. James and Tom caught and released a bream after many failed attempts. The boys also enjoyed climbing the steep sand hills and playing a competitive touch game.

At the end of the day, the delicious stir fry meal prepared by Cath which was loved by boys and staff alike. Finally, the crew hopes to rest well on their final day aboard the South Passage and Grade 10 Camp as a whole.
