VOYAGE NUMBER: 20170314
FROM: Manly TO: Manly
DATE: 14 March 2017
POSITION: Tangalooma Wrecks, Moreton Island
Report by: Blue Watch
We woke bright and early, very excited to sail. After breakfast we motored out of the marina and put the sails up. Leaving the marina we hit open water. Shortly after sailing smoothly out of the marina we found ourselves on the edge of a small storm. With fierce winds blowing we changed our sails and we headed away from the storm. Headed for the Tangalooma Wrecks, we sailed on the open water for some distance. Sailing parallel to Tangalooma we avoided the shallow water. Making a sharp turn we missed the shallows and sailed along near the beach. Lowering our sails, we slowed down gliding along the water coming to a stop near the wreck. Shortly after stopping we went for a swim. We had a great day of sailing and are looking forward to the rest of the trip.
