First day on the ship we had heaps of fun! As a group we learnt to do the basics of sailing, and it was awesome. We got to jump off the ship and tried to do challenges such as touching the ocean bed and kissing the mermaid on the front of the ship, as a group we learnt to tack the ship. This was one of the groups more favoured activities as the actions we had to perform were relatively easy.
The group soon had our first watch, this consisted of Helm, Stand by Port lookout, Port Lookout, Deck check, Stand by Deck check, Stand by Starboard Lookout, Starboard Lookout and Stand by Helm. These watch positions helped us create good communication between the White Watch group which will hopefully grow over the next couple of days.
