FROM: Hervey Bay To: Manly

DATE: 25 September 2024

POSITION: Tangalooma

REPORT: Blue Watch

The fabulous hum of the bugle assisted us in arising on this fine spring morning at precisely 6:30am. We rose and treated ourselves to a choice of wholesome porridge or tasty cereal paired with either orange or apple juice. After eventful rope tying competition in which we were ultimately taken out by the red watch – tying the clove hitch within 34 seconds – we returned to the galley and received a warm breakfast full of spaghetti, toast and hash brown.

Proceeding this lovely meal, the real work began, flaking the ropes to prepare the hoist of the main sail eventually beginning to sail at 9:40am. After a short lunch of spaghetti Bolognese, our watch began at 10:00am where we surveyed the boats grounds looking out for any potential dangers or wildlife proceeding close to our ship. Concluding at 12:00pm, our watch was able to spot dolphins, and other catamarans close to our ship.

Following this we enjoyed a fantastical dinner comprised of a stir fry and cheesecake in which, these roles continued shortly after. Our watch was able to spot the Cape Moreton Light, other Navy ships and passing container ships overall travelling a total of 72 nm. Finally, we began the final 10nm towards Bulwer where we crossed the bar into calmer waters and anchored off the coast calling it a night.
