South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Gold Youth Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20211211

FROM: Manly to Manly via Bundaberg

DATE: 17 December 2021

POSITION: Horseshoe Bay, Peel Is

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

The day started with a thrilling brass polishing session early this morning, where Blue Watch were preparing for the dragon knot tying competition. The crew left the magnificent beaches of northern Moreton Island later that morning, ready for the short sail to Peel Island. Each Watch was kept busy looking for cardinal marks, other boats, and even a stray pipe found floating around Moreton Bay.

Once arriving to a cloudy Peel Island, the crew went ashore for a fun game of cricket and a swim while others admired the local wildlife – stingrays, crabs, and eagles. After a short storm interrupted the beach swim, the crew returned to the vessel to hold a group election for our student leaders, ready to take over for our last day. We are all excited to take on the responsibility of sailing the ship into Manly Harbour tomorrow!
