South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: The Cathedral School Group E

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20210803

FROM: Townsville to Townsville

DATE: 10 August 2021

POSITION: Haycock Is, Hinchinbrook Channel

REPORT BY: White Watch

The White Watch team has had a blast of a time on the South Passage over the past couple of days, whilst supervised by the amazing crew on board as we sailed through the Hinchinbrook Channel. This experience has not only been exciting full with new experiences but it has also been a chance to step out of our comfort zones and learn a wide range of new skills.

Our White Watch team began this journey with no knowledge what-so-ever about the sailing life. We were completely shocked when we realised the knowledge necessary to be able to sail through all sorts of conditions. Today, while our team was on watch, we were struck by extremely strong winds that caused our tasks to become more difficult than anticipated but everyone enjoyed the adrenaline rush.

While on board the South Passage we have been taught different types of knots and competed in competitions against the other teams. White Watch obviously won all of these competitions being the best team.

After spending days on a deserted island for school camp, eating spam and drinking powdered milk, the cooks on board have created heavenly meals to fill our stomachs. And after a long day in the sun we are able to relax in the saloon on the comfy beds supplied.

Thank you so much to the crew on South Passage, White Watch has had an incredible time.
