CLIENT: Townsville Grammar School

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20210721

FROM: Townsville to Townsville

DATE: 21 July 2021

POSITION: Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Is

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

As we arrived at the port, Ashvindth was surprised because he thought the boat would be larger than it was. We all waited in our groups at the wharf before we were assigned to our watch groups. After a photo taken by parents, we were instructed to board the vessel. We settled in to our bunks and stowed our luggage beneath our bunks.

We were all called up on deck to hear the captain’s briefing and the safety briefing. We were shown around the ship by our Watch Leaders and informed about certain names for certain ropes, masts, and sails. The boat then set off for Magnetic Island. Whilst under way, we learnt the basics of seamanship. After 2 hours of motoring at 5 kts, we arrived at Horseshoe Bay and anchored for the night.
