South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Silkwood School

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20210420

FROM: Manly to Manly

DATE: 23 April 2021

POSITION:  Lucinda Bay, Moreton Is

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

Today we all woke at 5 am to bacon and eggs courtesy of the chef, Hugh, who is very considerate of dietary requirements and preferences. It was worth the early start when we got to the open ocean to see dolphins and some of us were able to sit on the bowsprit (The net at the front of the boat). We completed exercises in navigation to coordinate easily on the ship and to plot courses easily.

After 4 days at sea we are able to tie several knots quickly, navigate maps and plot courses, steer the ship and maintain lookout. After sailing around Moreton Island, we came to our destination, close to south Tangalooma Road and we were commended for lowering the sails in the darkness of the night.
