CLIENT: Saint Stephens College
VOYAGE NUMBER: 20210413
FROM: Manly to Manly
DATE: 16 April 2021
POSITION: Horseshoe Bay, Peel Is
REPORT BY: Blue Watch
The day started off with our watch at 0400 when we did our anchor watch and watched the sunrise. We then nominated a watch member to wake the rest of the crew with the bugle. Then after cold brekky we participated in the knot competition, in which we were tasked to tie the sheet bend and we won. After warm brekky we were allowed to swim in the Broadwater.
We then sailed from the Broadwater to Horseshoe Bay on the south side of Peel Island. Throughout the journey we were able to learn about the markers and how marine vessels use them to travel safely. While on our journey we raised and lowered the sails, as well as performing a gibe.
Once at our destination we swam again, and a few of the more adventurous crew members swam to Peel Island. We then concluded the evening with a knot competition for the rolling hitch, and then finally after dinner held our election for leadership positions for command day.
