VOYAGE NUMBER:  20210313

FROM: Manly to Manly

DATE: 13 March 2021

POSITION:  Tangalooma

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

When we got to Manly, we meet up with the teacher and took our stuff to the ship. We then got settled in and made our beds. We met a person from Gladstone and we all sat together and spoke and told each other about ourselves. We stayed at the dock overnight.

The next morning we than went through some stuff like safety about covid and the ship. Had breakfast. We put the long line out to the jetty and tied it on the cement pole. We got shown where the emergency exit is in case of an emergency and then set sail out to sea. While they were leaving I was in the anchor locker to put the ropes away neatly. All the groups did some training on how to put the sails up and down.  We put all the sails up and later had lunch. We all did watches which included sailing the ship, helming and being on lookout.

We and some fellow friends went out on the front of the ship on the net. During this time we had a few hours break. We went swimming jumping off the ship into the water. We all learnt how to tie a reef knot, figure of an 8 knot, round turn and two half hitches. Had a knot competition with all the groups. We came first in the reef knot competition and all the groups are on 4 points. We had chicken drum sticks with vegetables for dinner.
