VOYAGE NUMBER:  20210302

FROM: Manly to Manly

DATE: 3 March 2021

POSITION:  Tangalooma

REPORT BY: White Watch

Sam, Estar and Sonny woke up at 4:00am and Sam filled out a log entry while Sonny and Estar did the activities in the adventure manual. At 5:00am, after we finished our activities, we were sent back to bed and Satya, Alita and Matthew were woken up. Satya wrote the log entry and then we all did activities in our adventure manuals as well. Most of our White Watch got up and polished the brass on the steering wheel and around it. After that, we used a brass bugle to wake everyone up at 6:30am. We had breakfast.

The skipper has been organising knot competitions and this morning we competed against the other watches to tie a Figure of Eight knot and to operate a backstay. After cleaning the ship and raising the anchor, we prepared to set sail. When we got past the bay, the wind picked up at 20 knots and the ship started heeling over. For lunch we had very yummy burgers, it was raining so we had to eat below deck in the saloon.

Then we sailed for 4 hours with 24 knots of wind and waves spraying onto the ship. At the end of our watch we dropped the sails and lowered the anchor. We lowered the dinghy and were taken to shore in groups. We played around on the beach for a while and some of us rode down the sand dunes on boogie boards while others swam and snorkelled at the ship wrecks. We headed back to the ship on the dinghy and hoisted the dinghy up, then we all showered and changed into dry clothing. For dinner we had sausages and mashed potatoes and for dessert we had cheesecake and then we started our night watch.
