DATE: 4 November 2019

REPORT BY: Blue Watch
It was an exciting feeling this morning when we got onto the bus to travel down from school to Greenwich Point. After CCSS Year 7 Group 1 boarded the South Passage it was down to business with ‘learning the ropes’. We were placed into our watch groups and started straight away with putting the sails up and sailing. Next we began our exploration of Sydney Harbour. We had a rotation system where each group took time on watch. Every member of the group got an opportunity to steer the ship, go on lookout and plot our position.
We eventually came to rest in Rose Bay. We brought the sails down, settled in, got changed and had a swim (and jumped off the boat lots of times). We had a friendly knot competition and Blue Watch obviously deserved the win, however White Watch beat us by a close margin. Then we had dinner, it was rice and stir fry chicken and it was delicious…thank you Hugh. Some lucky members got to see a seal that swam up to the boat to check us out. The harbour is beautiful in the dark and we have seen six lightning strikes. I hope we aren’t the tallest thing in the general area! Lachie and Joey for Blue Watch.
