South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: TS Canberra Navy Cadets

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20191129

FROM: Sydney To: Sydney

DATE: 30 November 2019

POSITION:  Coasters Retreat, Pittwater

REPORT BY: White Watch

We started the day anchored outside Taronga Zoo. Once we lifted anchor we sailed in to the harbour to practice tacking. Once we sailed out from under the bridge post tack, we sailed out through the heads into open water. The weather today meant we had rough seas and had to change from all sails to just the foresail, jib and staysail. Many of the crew have reported seeing dolphins throughout the day.

After about four hours of sailing, we reached Palm Beach where the ship is anchored. Once we were anchored, the crew decided to go swimming off the side of the ship before going on to the lagoon for a swim as well. Everyone was back by 1730 to get ready for dinner and night activities.
