VOYAGE NUMBER: 20191206
FROM: Sydney To: Sydney
DATE: 7 December 2019
POSITION: Refuge Bay, Broken Bay
REPORT BY: White Watch
We started off the morning at Store Beach with plenty of paddle boarders and kayakers passing by as they started off their early day. At 6am White Watch got up to clean the brass and then at 6:30am woke the other watch groups up by blowing the bugle. We then had a cold breakfast consisting of Cereal, fruits and fruit juices. After cold breakfast we had a knot tying competition against the other watch groups for the reef knot. Our second breakfast was hot consisting of scrambled eggs, baked beans, toast.
We then started to get the anchor out in preparation to set sail. We sailed along many popular Sydney beaches including Manly Beach and Palm Beach. We did a gybe in Broken Bay before we entered the Hawkesbury River. We sailed along the mouth of the river until we reached Refuge Cove where we anchored our ship among the many other weekend boats.
We went over to the shore in a dinghy where we swam around and explored the shore edges. Back on board we had a knotting competition for the figure eight knot before a dinner of snags, mash, peas and corn. We were then treated to dessert before having down time on the deck before going to bed.
