VOYAGE NUMBER:  20190724

FROM: Townsville To: Townsville

DATE: 27 July 2019

POSITION: Rattle Snake Is

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

This morning our watch was woken up bright and early at 0450. We pulled up the anchor as we set off from the township of Lucinda, following the infamous 6km long jetty, towards Orpheus Island. At 0630 the rest of the crew was rudely awoken by Sophie’s bugle playing as we filled our bellies on first cold breakfast, then bacon and eggs. After we finished our morning routine clean up, we got into our beach wear and headed out for Yanks jetty for a beautiful morning snorkel and a little bit of beach cricket.

Eventually, after being dragged from the shore, we raised the sails and headed off for our evening destination, Rattle Snake Island. After many hours of tacking into the wind we finally arrived and watched the beautiful sunset. For dinner we had a delicious chicken stir fry and elected our skipper, navigator and sailing master for our trip back to Townsville tomorrow morning at 0900. Sophie and Ashani
