VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240401

FROM: Gladstone To: Manly

DATE: 4 April 2024

POSITION: White Cliffs, Sandy Straits

REPORT: White Watch

On the morning of the 4th, we all woke up bright and early to set sail from Hervey Bay to Fraser. Before embarking, Red Watch came out on top for the bowline competition. White Watch was on Mainsail, and it was a lovely up wind the whole way down. The weather was very favourable and there was not an ounce of seasickness going around. Due to these conditions, it was sunny weather gear above deck.

When we made it to Fraser, we anchored up and tendered over to King Resort, where we all indulged in a swim and a cold beverage/ice cream, the highlight of the day. After a quick dip we headed down the beach as we set out on a bush walk. Our skipper led us up through the bush to one of the original commando memorial training sites for Australian soldiers. We managed to go without encountering any dingos (despite previous encounters on this track).

We then cooled back off in the pool at the day resort before returning to the South Passage for some fruit cake that Hugh prepared for afternoon tea. The knot tying competition was held at sunset for a clove hitch. Soon after we raised anchor and headed for our anchorage for the night at White Cliffs.
