VOYAGE NUMBER:  20230919

FROM: Manly to Hervey Bay

DATE: 20 Sept 2023

POSITION: Bay south of Tangalooma

REPORT: Red Watch

Today we were awoken by the sound of White Watch playing the bugle at 6:30. After we woke up, we were delighted to a cold breakfast courtesy of Cathy, our lovely cook. For cold breakfast, we indulged in cereal and juice. At 7:00am, we had a rope competition where we competed using the figure 8 knot. Straight after White Watch had won, we came down to the kitchen to eat our hot breakfast which consisted of scrambled eggs, baked beans, and toast.

Once we devoured our delectable dishes, we commenced the dingy ride to the shore of Peel Island. At Peel Island we swam amidst the sprawling seas and fantastic fish. Additionally, on the shore, we sighted the mauled carcass of an unfortunate sea turtle. We trekked across the island, ravaging and roaming for adventure. We survived on wild crabs and the milk of coconuts along the hike. On returning to the vessel, we efficiently changed and ate lunch. On the menu was burgers, very American!

Once the return trip to the ship had been completed many wonderous events followed throughout the remaining hours. A calf and mother whale breached during the delightful day much to the joy of awestruck onlookers. Sails were hoisted, heads cleaned, tacks run and, in the end, today’s adventure was an immense success. The evening was concluded with hearty servings of bangers and bash polished off with scrumptious sticky date puddings.

We thank our avid readers for following our trip and wish them a good night. Thank you and goodnight from Red Watch, Anush, Camie, Katie, Richard, Vicky and Tyler
