CLIENT: Young Mariners Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20230801

FROM: Townsville to Mackay

DATE: 3 August 2023

POSITION: Cape Upstart

REPORT: Blue Watch

Before we left, we had another knot tying competition for the Figure of Eight and the Reef Knot, which gave white watch a lead of 1½ points in first ahead of red watch.

Each watch took their daily rotations and experienced rough waves and harsh steering; the bowsprit was dunked multiple times in the rough waves, giving everyone a nice and salty shower.

We had a delicious breakfast of pancakes before having delightful burritos (Sammy especially loved them). We started from the middle of the ocean and sailed for a consecutive nine hours. Some amazing humpback whales gave us a great show, along with a hasty turtle who waved hello.

Andy attempted to provide comedic value to the group, he explained the story of a youth who was saying as follows ‘chicken burger’. This joke was not funny. Overall, Andy is not funny, we’re a day behind, whales are cool, and Grace can’t steer.

We love you mums and dads; we all miss you very much (along with fast food).

Eden, Grace, Sammy, Taneeka, Mathias, Oliver
