On today’s voyage, we woke up in the wee hours of the morning, around 4 in the morning. From getting out of our beds in a hurry, we proceeded up to the deck, with our lifejackets and strobe lights, and Alex crawled into the anchor locker at the bow. In there, he flaked the anchors chain, and returned to the deck after a time being the port side lookout, the sun began to rise over the open ocean.
The rest of the day flew by like a blast after hoisting all the sails. But as we neared the end of our trip, our destination in sight, somebody spotted a small pack of whales. The mother and child flung their flippers into the air, and slammed their tails into the surface of the water. What a sight that was. Later on while we were lowering the jib, Camille and Alex sat on the bow sprit. Looking down after hearing a strange sound, we saw a pack of about eight dolphins jumping out of the water, following the front of the ship. It was the most amazing thing that I have seen in a long time.
After that we slowed down into the lagoon of Lady Musgrave Island. Getting changed some of the crew decided to launch themselves off the side of the ship. It was cold. Afterwards we settled down and played some cards. Dinner came and went, and once again we were back on watch.
