South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Central Coast Steiner School

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20191106

FROM: Sydney To: Sydney

DATE: 7 November 2019

POSITION:  Reef Bay, Sydney Harbour

REPORT BY: Blue Watch V2

Today on the 7th of November we woke up at 4 o’clock for Blue Watch’s anchor watch. At 6 we polished the brass. We were anchored off Taronga Zoo and we heard all the animals waking up and getting fed. We woke up the rest of the crew with a bugle at 6.30am. At 7am we had a knot tying competition and after that we had bacon and eggs for breakfast.

We pulled the anchor up and hoisted up the head sails and sailed out towards the Sydney Heads. At the Heads we saw four life jackets floating in the water. We managed to get three on board with the boat hook and the fourth one vanished. The skipper Damon reported our find to the authorities and it wasn’t too long before the police boat came and picked them up from us.

We anchored and went on the dinghy to get ashore to the Manly to Spit Bridge Coastal Walk. We returned to the ship to get changed and had another knot competition in which Blue Watch did themselves proud once more. We had a very nice day and we will be sad to be leaving tomorrow at 3 o’clock.
