We boarded the vessel in Cairns at 8:00 am, then we had a tour of the ship, and set sail at 10:00am. We had a run through of the safety procedures including the possibility of having a man fall overboard. We then headed for Fitzroy Island and on the way, we all learnt tacking and saw a pod of dolphins.
Once we got to Fitzroy, we went for a swim around the ship and a couple of us kissed the mermaid! We also participated in a knot tying competition where we had to tie the ‘round turn and two half hitches’ as quickly as possible.
Afterwards we enjoyed a yummy dinner that consisted of chicken drum sticks, potatoes, rice, carrots, peas and gravy and then lastly, we had a Danish and custard. We had lots of fun working together and taking silly pictures on Ciffo’s phone.
