South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: Youth Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20260922

FROM: Manly To: Hervey Bay

POSITION: Moon Point

DATE: 24 September 2026

REPORT: Blue Watch

Today marked the start of the Silver Qualifying Journey for the Duke of Edinburgh sailors. We awoke at 6:30am with the bugle ringing in our ears, and ate our cold breakfast of cereal (and porridge). After our breakfast we had a knotting competition on deck, creating the reef knot and figure of eight. Afterwards, we had bacon, eggs and toast.

The anchor was raised at 7am, while we were eating breakfast. Blue watch was on the main sail today, while we were on watch we dropped the mainsail, the jib and the staysail on the run. After having spaghetti bolognaise for lunch we stopped at Moon Point banks for a nice swim. Then we manually raised the anchor and motored to Moon Point, where we competed to tie the Bowline knot (Blue won by a huge margin).

Our cordon blue master-chef, Rana made us a chicken and Chinese fried vegetables, followed by a delicious cheesecake. This is Blue Watch (best watch) signing off.
