REPORT: Red Watch
Last night we had a watch from 12 to 4am. During this watch we did some navigating pages from our book. In the morning we had a knot competition and we had to complete a reef knot and round turn two half hitch.
On our way out from River Heads at around 7:30am we raised the sails. Our group had to do the main sail. From 10 to 12am we had a watch and we had to tack at least 5 times. After watch we had lunch which was burgers and some people went on the nets on the bowsprit.
At around 3:30pm we brought the sails down and anchored. We then took the dingy over to Fraser Island where we climbed the sand dune and swam in the ocean and creek. While over on Fraser Island we also saw a dingo. Throughout the day we saw many animals, such as, dugongs, whales, turtles, dolphins, and dingos.
When we got back on the ship we got changed and had dinner which was sausages, mash potatoes, vegetables, and onion gravy. At the moment we are on a watch from 6 to 8pm and we are writing this daily log.
