REPORT: Blue Watch
Today we had an amazing whole day at Lady Musgrove Island.
We were woken by Stefans lovely, yet sad attempt at the Bugle, followed by Lous great bacon and egg brekky. Around 8am we moved our mooring from outside the lagoon to inside, then it was a beautiful morning of being tendered to the island for a look around.
We met Ian, the caretaker for the Island. He was doing a 3 week stint, looking after the Islands toilet facilities and any campers. He had just had 8 volunteers who were getting rid of unwanted weeds.
We went back to the boat for delicious tacos around 11.30am, had a relaxing chill out till 2pm, then onto some snorkelling. All of blue watch, a representative of red watch and the skipper headed to the reef, near the permanent pontoon. We were greeted by a wide array of fish, including 3 different loggerhead turtles.
Finishing up back at South Passage for a delicious roast meal and danish and custard for desert.
We are eagerly looking forward to a 4am start, to be able to get into Bundaberg by 4pm..ish. South Passage will be part of Oceanfest for the first time and will be open to members of the public.
