We arrived at the Marina in Cairns and said goodbye to our families as we set off on our voyage. We learnt how to belay and learnt many different and new jobs within the ship. We learnt to hoist the sails, as well as how to steer the ship. We went on an adventure to a light house hiking approximately 3 kms up a mountain at Fitzroy Island.
On our way out to Fitzroy Island the weather we experienced was choppy, windy and the water was even coming up the side of the ship! We were cruising on an angle for a long time. A handful of people got sea sick, which isn’t too bad. Our chef Cath made amazing meals for the first day and everyone enjoyed it. We participated in a knotting competition coming third on our first day, we worked together as a great team and are excited for coming days.
