Early in the morning, we did the knotting competition (which we won!) Then we raised our sails and set off from Fitzroy Island, and headed to Sudbury Sand Cay. Once we arrived at the sand cay…out of the blue a big rainstorm hit as we lowered our sails for a swim. Once the rain had passed, and the sun came out we could finally sunbathe, swim and snorkel. After that, we came back to the ship and had another knotting competition.
All in all, it was a fun day sailing out in the ocean. After dinner we had a meeting for command day during which we had three nominees put forward from the Watchleaders. The White Watch nominee was voted Skipper, the Blue Watch nominee was voted Sailmaster and the Red Watch nominee was voted Navigator. Tomorrow we will set sail back to Cairns Marina with our new nominees in charge, sailing the ship back by ourselves.
