POSITION: Fitzroy Is

DATE: 17 June 2026

REPORT: Blue Watch

Today we woke up at 6:00 am to red watch blowing the bugle. We had cold breakfast and did a bowline knot competition, then at 10:30 we went over to Fitzroy Island on the tender. We swam in the sea for a while and went snorkeling around the reef where we saw turtles and fish and coral. Then we walked over to the jetty and decided to go to Nudey beach.

We stayed on the island for about two hours, then at 12:30 we came back to the boat and had spaghetti bolognese for lunch. After lunch we sailed back and forth around Fitzroy to practise tacking and gybing. Later we had another knot competition where we did the clove hitch knot, and there is one point between red and blue watch. We later had beef, corn, carrots, peas, potato and pumpkin for dinner, then we had delicious cheesecake for dessert.
