We woke up early after a very short night sleep in the Cairns Marina. We were all very excited to get going, but first we moved into our three watch groups and got a tour of the ship and learned about the sails: Main Sail, Fores Sail, and Jib sail. We motored up the Cairns Inlet to practice hoisting up the sails, in the less windy, and calmer waters of the inlet.
Soon, we were on our way to start our sailing adventure. After lunch, we made our way north, sailing along the coast, to Double Island. And that is where we are anchored now, ready for another sailing trip to a different spot tomorrow.
