The bugle sounded clear and loud at 0630 and with great excitement red watch leapt out of their bunks and hurried towards the next challenge – pancakes, bowline, or toast suited up ready to go.
The dinghy struck ground on Hinchinbrook Island, and half went this way (South), and half went that way (North).
South – “We hiked to the pools and went for a swim in a picturesque water hole full of cane toad eggs and we saw the shell of a turtle that had been munched by a crocodile”.
North – “We made an assault of the East face of Nina Peak. A few daring individuals toyed with their fate and dodged the elusive crocodiles”.
Night sailing was a treat – all the way to Dunk Island, as was Cath’s Butter Chicken and Cheesecake. Yum Yum.
