We came from the Gold Coast and we got lost looking for the port. Once we found the meeting place after a brief meeting and talk we hopped on the boat in our assigned groups. We passed down the bags through the roof to our bunks, got assigned them and set them up. Once we were organised, we climbed through the emergency exit and out the roof as practiced and received some basic tips and a safety briefing, we set sail.
As we reached further out, we prepped to raise the sails with everyone having their own responsibility. We learnt new sailing and techniques whilst sailing towards North Stradbroke Island. Once we got to North Stradbroke, we made our way to the shore by the dingy, where we played on the swing, sand, in the water, and played beach soccer. When we came back to this ship we jumped off into the water and relaxed for a bit. We then did a rope tying competition and learnt some new rope tying techniques, before having dinner and watching the sun set. Overall the day was filled with new learning opportunities and fun times.
