REPORT: White Watch
We set off at 9:30 after getting an orientation from the staff about the emergency exits, PFDs and the different knots we would need to know. The wind was quite strong at 30-35 knots. White group was in charge of the main sail. When it was our turn on watch we did some practice tacking which Lizzy has some battle scars to remember it with.
We then took a dinghy to the beach at Blakesley’s, North Straddie and waded ashore through the water. There we set up a small soccer field in the sand to play a game with Jake, Josh, Phoebe, Cara, Ollie, Seb, Shane, Noah and Noah.
During our sailing today, we saw a dolphin, dugong and a turtle. Most were seen swimming alongside the boat. We finished the night with chicken drumsticks for dinner and by doing the final checks of the boat before settling in for the night.
