We were anchored at Wavebreak Island Gold Coast this morning and motored north between Stradbroke and the mainland of Australia. Then we went to Curigee where we anchored and went ashore in the dinghy. This trip involved leisure activities such as touch football and la natation dans la sea. We sailed in light to moderate wind with the ship ravelling approximately up to 6-7 knots.
The crew executed several sail adjustments according to weather conditions, including reefing the mainsail to maintain stability as well as tacking moving in a zig zag formation in our designated watches (blue, red and white). Navigation required increased attention due to dark and cloudy conditions, however as we progressed towards the end of our day voyage, it became sunnier and the heat became more aggressive.
