Left Yamba at 4am yesterday morning. Sailed through the night for 27 hours, an uneventful night with swell to 1 metre. A flailing line was found to be a leech cord on the jib seam, which was subsequently cut off for safety reasons.
A clear morning saw us passing the impressive foreshore of Surfers Paradise, a long line of high-rise windows reflected the rising sun. A delightful cruise up the Broadwater completed the mornings sail before reaching Deanbilla Bay, off Dunwich at North Stradbroke Island where we anchored and took the dinghy to the beach where several crew and passengers delighted in the sights and hospitality the township has to offer.
Back on board by 5pm, all accounted for.
