This morning, we connected with everyone. We left at 8:30am and did a MOB (man overboard) drill with a float named Bob. We practiced tacking and belaying, hoisted the jib, mainsail, and foresail. We sailed to Platypus Bay and K’Gari, where we swam and jumped off the side of the ship. There were many whales and dolphins that we saw. We then continued to sail south and anchored near Fraser Island. We were able to steer at the helm. In the evening, we had a knotting contest for the round turn two half hitches knot. For dinner, we had chicken with vegetables and rice, followed by Danish pastries with custard.
