When we first arrived, there were some mixed feelings, including, nervous, excitement, unsure, and a little home sick. Everyone was getting involved in the activities. We enjoyed learning new skills such as rope work, trimming sails, lots of tacking, which ended up looking a well-oiled machine, be trusted at the helm, under supervision of our skipper (Garry), and we did a little bit of navigation.
After enjoying a delicious lunch, we started our first watch shift. Everyone was working together and was very encouraging of each other. After a long day of working hard, we were given the opportunity to jump ship, cool off in the ocean, and explored an island, Moon Point beach. When we were back on board, on the South Passage, we were greeted by an incredible sunset, and a very delicious dinner, and dessert.
