REPORT: White Watch
We started the day by waking up in the dead of night at 12am. We finished our bookwork promptly near Lucinda and took our positional notes before trying to go back to bed despite lots of snoring. After fuelling up with two breakfasts, we set off raising the sails in very windy 21- 26 knot conditions. Seeing as the wind was very unpredictable, we had to perform two tacks and a reef in on the run in very challenging weather.
After everyone recovered from seasickness we swam off the ship and kissed the mermaid at Esk Island, on the way back we saw 3 whales around 200m away. White watch came second in the single sheet bend competition by 1 second and Mika would like to say that “we are going to THRASH red watch tomorrow”. Currently, we are anchored at Rattlesnake Island ready for the solo sail home. See you soon!
