REPORT: White Watch
Today we set sail from the docks of Townsville to start our journey out to sea. We managed to see a few boats and ferry’s but nothing too exciting. White watch was then called for Lunch, we had Salami or Ham and Salad rolls, that were AMAZING!! After lunch we prepped our sails, we were given the task to look after the main sail. Everyone got in and helped each other, TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!!
It was then time to put up the sails and wasn’t that some hard yakka! As we need to change course to Cape Cleveland to settle in for beddy byes. The A Team come up trumps and actually killed it, Monika the Amazon Warrior put in a lot of work helping everyone (Dig her). After all sails were up it was time to enjoy afternoon tea, we had madeira cake, Sonja had hot chocolate and Monika had a coffee. It was perfect for the perfect afternoon setting. Monika and Sonja then enjoyed sometime at the bow sprit, laughing and just enjoying life, Monika at one stage got soaked but the water that splashed up, it definitely was a be there moment. Sonja was relaxing, watching Rugby League, yes, she was watching rugby league whilst also laughing at Monika for getting wet.
As we got closer to our destination of Cape Cleveland it was time to take the sails down. Once again everyone helped each other complete the tasks they needed to. We then taught to tie some knots for this competition, and yes, we won! (Jokes). We were then called down to the galley for the loveliest chicken stir fry, Monika and Sonja enjoyed their meal watching the sun go down on the dock, it was the most beautiful setting to end an amazing day.
We were then on watch until 8pm, we did our readings and chose Castle Hill, Mount Stuart and the light house at Cleveland Bay. Then it was time for hot showers and warm clothes. Now it’s back to sit on the deck with cups of hot chocolate and coffee in hand to enjoy making memories. Sonja and Monika
