REPORT: White Watch
We left Fitzroy Island and headed for Sudbury cay. The weather was great, and it wasn’t that rough compared to the previous days. The sun was shining, and we all enjoyed the smooth sailing. For breakfast, we had delicious pancakes made by our outstanding chef Louise. Once we arrived at Sudbury, we anchored to have lunch which was chicken burritos which were amazing!
We then took the dinghy to the sand cay and went snorkelling in the reef with the fish and friends (sea stars, crabs, sea cucumbers, etc) and swam in the crystal-clear water with colourful coral. When we returned, a few of us jumped off the ship into the water, which was exhilarating.
After our short stop, we put our sails back up and went North to Milln reef, practicing gybing and other sailing techniques. We then anchored to do a rolling hitch competition where White Watch was obviously victorious (because we are the best). Dinner was great as always, and for dessert we had fruit and custard. While we ate our dinner on the deck, we watched the sunset and looked out for dolphins and whales. Now we are about to vote for our Skipper, sailing master, navigator and the three watch leaders. Overall, it was a very successful day, and we are all looking forward to our Command Day tomorrow!
