We sailed through the Hinchinbrook Channel until midnight then anchored. It was a very long day of sailing from 7 am to midnight but the weather was fine so it was quite pleasant. We went to sleep and was woken up by our watch leader during the night and filled out a booklet about the ship and the terminology. We also used compasses to document where the ship was positioned, we did this by finding the angle of different points of reference. Then we went back to bed until woken up by a noisy bugle player at 6:30am.
In the morning, we did a knot competition for the knot around turn and two half hitches and blue watch won. We raised anchor by hand using the capstan and washed the anchor using the manual pump so everyone got lots of exercise. We then set sail to Dunk Island. Once we got there, we took a little boat to the shore and walked around the island a bit. We then left Dunk Island and sailed to Clump Point. We had a watch from 6:00 to 8:00 and we did a knot competition for reef knot and blue watch won again.
