VOYAGE NUMBER:  20250609

FROM: Townsville To: Townsville

POSITION: Hinchinbrook Channel

DATE: 10 June 2025

REPORT: Red Watch

We motored out of Pioneer Bay, Orpheus Island, and began the preparation of raising the sails, hoisted them and moved out, tracking to the right of Hinchinbrook Island in our circumnavigation of the majestic island. The wind chopped and changed for the next couple hours, multiple gybes taking place. Soon, the waves got more aggressive and what was once “rocky” was now a lurching ship. But we soon pushed through and anchored not far off Brooke Island for a swim in the emerald sea.

After a half hour swim, we set off again, reaching the top of Hinchinbrook, before beginning to turn south. By this time the sun was beginning to sink low on the horizon, its golden light casting long shadows across the deck. As we reached the Hinchinbrook channel, the light had long gone. Navigating through the port and starboard markers, we continued under motor, passing Cardwell.

After a few more tasks we set up the final watch rounds and set our sights on a fitful sleep, and tomorrows adventure.
