REPORT: Red Watch
After awakening to our morning bugle call, we were greeted by a stunningly clear morning of bright blue sky.
The knot competition was as competitive – won by the white watch again. After a yummy breakfast we negotiated our way through the Hinchinbrook Channel, crocodile hunting was our sport for the day, however we saw pelicans, swallows, kites, sea eagles and a lonely dolphin, the crocodiles were all in hiding.
We stopped in for freshwater refill at the Lucinda jetty which is one of the longest jetties in the southern hemisphere, 5.7 kilometres long, conveying sugar to the cargo ships.
Once our water tanks were full again, we set sail for Pelorus Island where we had a swim and snorkel amongst beautifully colourful coral that was home to a full colony of angel fish.
Our final destination for the day was Pioneer Bay and we were greeted with a golden sunset. Deb
