Our day started with a light rain, wasn’t cold. We had a knot competition, with the knot of the day being the Bowline, which has many uses on the ship. Breakfast was served, consisting of delicious pancakes, maple syrup and banana.
We set sail at 08.30 for Hinchinbrook Island, Zoe Bay. To do this we hoisted the sails, given we had favourable winds, we were able to turn off the motor, we were completely under sail on our way to Zoe Bay. We arrived around lunch time. Our cook Rana prepared a hearty pasta for our walk up to the most magical waterfall with glassy untouched rock pool at the base of the waterfall.
A further climb up the steep rocky track brought us to the top of the falls where there is a small pool on the edge of the falls, and beyond that a deep small infinity pool in a cleft in the rocks. We went a little further up the creek and swam in a long deep pool to the small waterfall at the end. After swimming, climbing playing along the rocks and creek, we were lucky to relax for around 3 hours on the island.
We got our uber tender, skippered by our Skipper Phil, back to the ship. After raising the tender and anchoring, we prepared to raise the sails once again. We set sail for our next destination, Gould Island, where we will anchor for the night. It will take us a couple of hours to get there. Along the way, the sunset was magical and the scenery of Hinchinbrook Island looked a lot like a scene of Jurassic Park.
