REPORT: White Watch
This morning, we left from Cape Upstart at 6 am under motor so that we could arrive at Magnetic Island before dark. It was a very simple day motor sailing. Raising the sails was a breeze today! We had sailed passed Cape Bowling Green which was a large sand bar that seemed to never end. All the watch leader trainees had a go at calling the hoist and did exceedingly well.
A few of us had completed a treasure hunt of the deck which filled in some time, and I had a go on the bowsprit which was so relaxing. We ended the day by successfully lowering the sails and anchoring at Horseshoe Bay around 15:30.
Everyone went to shore where we all had a nice refreshing drink at Marlin Bar and Rachel and Nicola had shouted me a lovely lemonade! We all hopped back onto the ship and enjoyed a delicious noodle and chicken dinner followed by a Danish pastry with custard. We are ending the night by watching the State of Origin off a laptop on the dining table!
