The day started at 6:30am where Teo woke us up with the bugle, and we enjoyed a cold breakfast and practised our knots. After our heated knot competition, we had some delicious hot breakfast and prepped the sails, raised the anchor and the sails. The weather was perfect, and we headed towards Peel Island, where we anchored and in groups of five made our way over to the beach on the dinny, and enjoyed the afternoon.
The marine life was splendid and we were blessed to see several stingrays varying in size, and some students even snacked on some tiny prawns and captured crabs, practising their survival skills. A fun game of soccer, burying friends and climbing trees were some activities that helped pass the time until we were picked up.
In the evening, we raised the anchor, lowered the sails and headed towards our next destination. – Southport Seaway. The wind has picked up but the temperature is mild and the stars are beautiful. Looking forward to our warm beds and some new adventures tomorrow.
