VOYAGE NUMBER:  20250324

FROM: Manly To: Manly

DATE: 24 March 2025

POSITION: Big Sandhills, Moreton Is

REPORT: White Watch

Arriving at South Passage, we first learnt the safety procedures. After taking off, we took in the scenery and began to get a feel for travelling on the ship. It was calm, relaxed, and the breeze was amazing.
Eventually all the groups got assembled, and the work began. The sails were heavy to lift, and the ropes rubbed your palms, but overall, it was worth it. Watching the sails rise up into the air, and the wind catch in their canvas, swaying above our heads. Once the sails were hoisted, the ship began to tilt, mostly to the left, as the wind was pushing the sails that way, but it was a great feeling, like an amusement park ride.
On the journey out we were excited to come across a green sea turtle right beside the ship. When we reached our first stop everyone was eager to jump in the cool water for a swim, after working on the ship all morning. Next was rope tying everyone gathered in their groups (red, white and blue), and began practising our first knot, before the groups worked as teams to challenge the other groups knot tying abilities. We finished the night with Hughs delicious apple pie and custard.
