DATE: 24 November 2024
POSITION: Currigee
REPORT: Red Watch
Red Watch started their day at midnight with the 12:00am to 4:00am shift. Within this time each of us recorded different data, writing them in our logbooks. We all loved the hot chocolate that we were provided as we woke up to a cold night.
We all woke up at 6:30am, preparing ourselves for the day. After we ate breakfast, we had a competition on tying the reef knot and putting up and down the backstay with all the Watches. White watch won.
The whole day the weather was really beautiful, though the sun was very harsh so everyone kept applying a lot of sunscreen. Nearly everyone got to sit on the net at the bow, we were all relaxing on it as we sailed around. We stopped to put the anchor down around 3.30pm and jumped off the ship to go swimming. We had a lot of fun jumping off the bow, but sadly we weren’t allowed to do any flips.
Everyone had different shifts and other than putting the sails up and down, everyone learnt how to steer the helm and do some mapping. Overall, it was an enjoyable, easy-going day.
