CLIENT: Churchie Year 10

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20241118

FROM: Manly To: Manly

DATE: 18 November 2024

POSITION: Blakesley Anchorage

REPORT: White Watch

This morning, we assembled at TS Magnus at 8 o’clock for a much awaited 10 o’clock departure. We boarded the bus for a half an hour drive to Manly harbour. Entertained by the antics of Cohen Leary. Upon arrival we set our sights on the South Passage our home for the next week. Broken up into our watches we quickly stowed our bags and prepared to leave port. We then sailed for a few hours long trip to Stradbroke Island, learning along the way how to control the parts of the ship such as steering and raising and lowering the sails, rotating through our roles within our watch, along with the numerous names of each part of the ship.

Upon arrival at Straddie we lowered the anchor and left in groups of 6 on the dinghy to go for a swim on the beach along with playing some beach footy and cricket.  When we got back from our swim, we were taught how to tie two different knots including figure 8 and round turn two half hitches, competing against other watches to tie the quickest. Dinner was then served to each watch, followed by dessert. Tomorrow, we set sail again, this time for the Gold Coast.
