VOYAGE NUMBER:  20241015

FROM: Manly To: Coffs Harbour

DATE: 17 October 2024

POSITION: Coffs Harbour

REPORT: Red Watch

We had to gybe and anchor in the dark last night to get to Yamba at about 0100. Today we woke up at 0700 to start our watch. We then had cold breakfast shortly after. All the watches then started practicing their knots for the knotting competition. We did the figure of eight knot and the clove hitch knot. After that we had hot breakfast and started sailing through Yamba and out to sea.

We made our way to North Solitary Island and had a swim there. On our way back near the coast be started practicing the reef knot. We saw lots on whales throughout the day and some jumped out of the water and waved their fins. Some dolphins swam under the boat while we were sailing and tried to keep up with the ship. We tried anchoring offshore near Tree Point but decided to keep going to Coffs Harbour.
