Today we departed Manly and have gone through safety procedures, sailing techniques, and new tying skills. In our designated groups, we rotated and experienced different sailing manoeuvres whilst showing leadership, teamwork and effective communication. After learning more skills, we got to experience tacking where we worked as a whole group to turn the ship. We then competed in a knot tying competition around the fastest group that could tie a half-hitch. Overall, the first day was very fun and we enjoyed learning about new skills.
