VOYAGE NUMBER:  20240901

FROM: Hervey Bay To: Manly

DATE: 2 September 2024

POSITION: South White Cliffs, Fraser Is

REPORT: Red Watch

We started the day by waking up at 5.40am after doing an overnight watch between midnight and 4am. We had no rest at all until lunchtime. We started the day anchored at Round Island.

Our team won the knotting competition by a whole minute, tying a round turn and two half hitches. We all enjoyed hoisting the sails for the first time as we made our way to Pelican Banks, a small island off Hervey Bay where we went for a swim. A jelly fish swam floated amongst the girls who all screamed and ran. Someone also spotted a fish jumping out of the water. The food was great and kept us going for the day.

At the end of the day we sailed alongside K’Gari (Fraser Island) and put down anchor just after sunset at South White Cliffs, Fraser Island. After dinner we tidied up the deck and spent time hanging out looking at the stars.
